Job Summary
Tankerman position responsible for preparing barge equipment and overseeing cargo operations for loading and discharge of Caustic Soda; operate and maintain ballast and cargo systems, perform routine maintenance and inspections, ensure cargo documents are in order, and communicate with dock/vessel personnel about cargo transfer properties. Must hold USCG/Merchant Mariner credentials with STCW endorsements (including STCW Basic Safety Training, PSC, VPDSD) and national endorsements (Able Bodied Seaman, Lifeboatman, Ordinary Seaman, Stewards Department), Tankerman PIC DL with experience with Caustic Soda preferred, and a valid TWIC and U.S. Passport. Education includes High School diploma with Maritime Academy preferred; Able Seafarer and additional endorsements may be preferred. Physical requirements include working in confined spaces and lifting loads >25 pounds; current USCG STCW Medical Certificate required every 2 years.

- Tankerman PIC limited to Dangerous Liquid (DL) – Experience with Caustic Soda preferred
- TWIC card
- U.S. Passport
- High School diploma
- Maritime Academy education preferred
- ABS Nautical Systems NS5 experience preferred
- Current USCG STCW Medical Certificate
