Job Summary
Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance while safely operating a Class A tanker truck transporting cement from terminals to plant locations. Accurately complete logbooks, delivery documentation, and other required paperwork in line with company policies and DOT regulations. Communicate proactively with dispatch to receive delivery instructions and provide updates on route progress. Ensure secure loading and unloading of cement, preventing spillage or contamination, and follow established routes, schedules, and safety procedures. Promptly report any vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or vehicle damage, and provide exceptional customer service at delivery sites. Maintain a clean driving record with no serious tickets or accidents in the last five years. Work consistent local or regional routes with no Sunday work, earning hourly pay with overtime after eight hours plus eligibility for bonuses and annual raises.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Current DOT Medical Card
- Minimum of 2 years' proven experience driving Class A tanker trucks
- Clean driving record with no serious tickets or accidents in the last 5 years
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards for material transport
- Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform tasks involving bending, lifting, and climbing
- Excellent time management skills to meet delivery schedules
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for working with plant personnel and customers
- Willingness to undergo SRM's pre-employment screenings
- Positive, 'go-getter' attitude and commitment to SRM's 5 Principles of Service: Safety, Quality, Kindness, Cleanliness, and Go-Getter
- Must be available for local or regional routes
- Must be available to work Monday through Saturday (no Sunday work)
