Job Summary
Operate a Class A tanker truck, transporting cement from supply terminals to various SRM Concrete plant locations while ensuring secure loading and unloading to prevent spillage. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, accurately complete logbooks and delivery documentation in line with DOT regulations, and communicate proactively with dispatch for route instructions and progress updates. Follow established routes and safety procedures, promptly report any vehicle defects or accidents, and provide exceptional customer service at delivery sites. Maintain a clean driving record and stay current on safety regulations. Work local or regional routes with no Sunday work, earning competitive hourly pay with overtime after eight hours.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Current DOT Medical Card
- Minimum of 2 years' proven experience driving Class A tanker trucks
- Clean driving record with no serious tickets or accidents in the last 5 years
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards for material transport
- Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform tasks involving bending, lifting, and climbing
- Excellent time management skills to meet delivery schedules
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for working with plant personnel and customers
- Willingness to undergo SRM's pre-employment screenings
