Job Summary

Transport and deliver petroleum products to customers by verifying loads against shipping papers and maintaining records of duty status per federal and local regulations. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, climb ladders to check holding tanks, and submit written reports on vehicle conditions after each shift. Drive to designated destinations, maneuvering in heavy traffic, inclement weather, and tight loading areas while bending, stooping, and handling hoses and pumps. Open valves, start pumps, record quantities loaded or delivered, and issue tickets to customers. Report all accidents, safety hazards, and delays promptly. Requires a valid Class C license with tanker and hazmat endorsements and DOT medical standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid commercial class C drivers license with tanker and hazmat endorsements
  • Previous commercial driving experience
  • Graduated from an accredited commercial driving school
  • Working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, inspection and maintenance
  • Must meet or exceed the medical standards of the U.S. Department of Transportation
  • Must be able to back up equipment in all types of weather and conditions
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, pull and push all types of hoses and equipment required to do the job
  • Must be able to climb ladders to check holding tanks on equipment
  • Must be able to climb in and out of the truck cab frequently
  • Must be able to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds
  • Must be able to talk and hear
  • Must be able to perform close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day
  • Must be able to perform duties in accordance with company policies and procedures and comply with all federal and local regulations for the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle
  • Must be able to report all accidents involving driver or company equipment
  • Must be able to report highway safety hazards noted enroute to and from customer sites
  • Must be able to promptly report any delays due to break downs, weather or traffic conditions or other emergencies, or in the event of irregularities related to pick up or delivery of cargo
  • Must be able to maneuver fuel hoses in, around and through all types of equipment as required
  • Must be able to opens valves or starts pumps to fill tank; reads gauges or meters and records quantity loaded
  • Must be able to Records amount delivered and issues ticket to customer
  • Must be able to maintain records required for compliance with Guam and federal regulations including drivers record of duty status, mileage records and other records required by law
  • Must be able to verify loads to shipping papers
  • Must be able to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Must be able to drive truck to and from designated destinations
  • Must be able to apply knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads in the area
  • Must be able to apply skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather and in and out of tight loading and unloading areas
  • Must be able to go forward and backing up long distances, around corners and in and around very tight corners in all situations
  • Must be able to perform duties in all kinds of weather
  • Must be able to work in crowded streets and highways
  • Must be able to handle temperature, weather and outside environment extremes
  • Must be able to handle tight delivery schedules, delays enroute and other stresses and fatigues related to driving a large commercial motor vehicle
  • Must be able to work irregular work schedules
  • Must be able to work 50% of time out of doors
  • Must be able to work 50% of duty time in the cab of a truck
  • Must be able to withstand noise and vibration levels which may be higher than those typically experienced in passenger cars
  • Must be able to work in difficult environmental conditions
