Job Summary

Operate MIG and TIG welding equipment to attach tanks or parts to the core based on blueprint instructions. Move tanks and cores onto turntables or manipulators, regulate current and voltage via hand trigger or foot pedal, and weld additional pieces as needed. Stamp completed work and move finished assemblies to pallets or carts. Meet production quotas and standard times set by the Lead or Supervisor. Maintain a clean and safe work environment while reporting any issues immediately. Adhere to all environmental management system policies and AKG attendance requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of a formal trade school program with a welding concentration, apprenticeship program and/or on-the-job training by Welders at AKG North American Operations, Inc.
  • Must be available and able to work the agreed upon shift and work overtime when required
  • Ability to read and understand detailed blueprint instructions and read a tape measure using the metric system
  • Must have great attention to detail
  • Must be able to stand (95%) and walk (5%) of the time. Or must be able to sit (95%) and walk (5%) of the time. May also be required to bend, stoop, pull, push, twist and turn.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs (100%) of the time
  • Must be able to use a pallet jack, chain hoist and welding equipment
  • Must use safety equipment such as steel toe shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, welding jacket, welding helmet and gloves
  • Regular physical attendance is a requirement for this position
