Job Summary
Perform welding and grinding functions per job specifications, including horizontal, vertical, flat, and overhead positions. Select equipment, plan layout and assembly, interpret drawings, and set up items for welding. Execute tasks such as tacking seams, dismantling assemblies, cutting materials, and fitting steel sheets. Clean, chip, or grind parts and weld after completing each job. Identify safety hazards and take corrective action to eliminate or minimize risks. Load and offload field equipment and material shipments from trucks. Work five days on, two days off, with availability to start immediately and willingness to travel and work frequent overtime. Maintain a 95-100% pass rate on weld X-ray/visual exams and hold a Journeyperson card.
Required Qualifications
- Tank Building and/or Repair experience
- Journeyperson card with any provincial governing body
- Ability to pass a weld test
- Ability to pass D&A screen
- Ability to pass test in 2G, 3G, 4G in SMAW process
- 95-100% pass rate on weld X-ray/visual exams
- Ability to read prints and written instructions
- Ability to follow verbal directions
- Ability to follow welding procedure specifications

- Fire retardant clothing
- Clean shaven and/or free of facial hair
