Job Summary

Perform welding and grinding functions per job specifications, including tacking horizontal and vertical seams, fitting steel sheets, and dismantling assemblies with burning equipment. Interpret drawings and sketches to plan working procedures, then set up, assemble, and prepare items for welding while following procedure specifications. Clean and chip parts, remove debris, and load offload field equipment and material shipments. Identify safety hazards and take corrective action, maintaining high moral standards and adhering to core values. Work five days on, two days off, with availability to start immediately. This role covers tank repair and maintenance at the Shell Scotford job in Fort Saskatchewan.

Required Qualifications

  • Tank Building and/or Repair experience
  • Must be able to pass test- 2G, 3G, 4G in SMAW process
  • Must maintain a 95-100% pass rate on weld X-ray/visual exams
  • Must be able to read prints and written instructions as well as follow verbal directions required to perform duties and responsibilities
  • Must follow welding procedure specifications when welding
  • Must possess Journeyperson card with any provincial governing body
  • Must be able to successfully pass a weld test and D&A screen (conditions of employment) prior to employment beginning
