TANF Cultural Activity Assistant

Job Summary

Develop culturally appropriate activities for school-aged children by collaborating with Tribal TANF, Pechanga Cultural Resources, and school staff to implement programs promoting educational goals for tribal youth and families. Teach and instruct on Luiseño culture, including native plants, pottery, subsistence, oral tradition, and place names, while facilitating after-school initiatives that increase community pride and self-respect. Verify eligibility for TANF services, maintain activity reports, and create reference materials for teachers to incorporate into lessons. Develop hands-on summer activities and assist with outreach between the Cultural Resource Department, Pechanga School, and community schools. Perform miscellaneous duties such as answering phones, managing supplies, and setting up events, including occasional work on weekends and after normal hours.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Proof of insurance
  • Personal vehicle to use for work
  • Certified in Child/Infant CPR within 90 days of employment
  • Knowledge of MS Word

  • Knowledge of Publisher
