Job Summary
Operate collating and/or labeling/patching machines to produce value-added enhancements to in-process work; review specifications and set up equipment for forms collating from web rolls, label affixing, or window patching to meet customer requirements; execute processes such as assembling, perforating signatures, stapling, gluing, folding, or cutting sheets to form complete sets and apply labels or films to substrates; perform safety inspections and document issues while tracking production; read and interpret work orders containing collating requirements and maintain dimensional accuracy per instructions; possess knowledge of various paper stock types and finishing operations; set up and adjust machines to optimize weight, color, machinability, and quality, preventing machining impressions on materials; utilize the full range of tools to maintain machine accuracy and operational conditions; understand complete range of folding, collating and cutting for finished products; employed as part of RR Donnelley, an Equal Opportunity Employer, with pay rate at $21.80/hour plus potential shift differential; pre-employment background and drug screen required; 2nd shift differential adds $2, 3rd shift adds $3.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret work orders or job specifications containing collating requirements
- Ability to set up and adjust collating/label application machines and related finishing operations
- Knowledge of paper stock quality and machining requirements
- Skill in calculating distances, clearances, and fits between machines
- Proficiency with standard and specialized tools to maintain machine accuracy and operating conditions
- Ability to perform safety inspections and document problems during operation
