Job Summary
Linguist role supporting YSG/TU language requirements including interpretation (in-person and virtual), translation of written/audio/video materials, transcription, document review/editing, and foreign language instruction across a broad portfolio. Open evergreen requisition for current and future needs; candidates may be considered for multiple language support roles. Remote and CONUS-based opportunities with potential travel. Category I–III ILR proficiency requirements and security clearance prerequisites, with emphasis on idiomatic translation, consecutive interpretation, cultural familiarity, and ability to work under high pressure as part of a professional team.
Required Qualifications
- Must be CAT I (ILR level 2+ in English) or CAT II (ILR level 2+ in English) with US citizenship and security vetting requirements, or CAT III (ILR level 3 in English) with appropriate clearance (TOP SECRET with SCI access for TS/SCI) as specified by task orders
- Ability to provide idiomatic translations between English and foreign language with correct syntax
- Ability to perform consecutive, accurate translation and interpretation
- Experience providing foreign language instruction to adult students
- Familiarity with local culture and customs relevant to language services
- Willing and able to live and work in harsh environments and under high-pressure conditions
- Ability to work as an integral member of a professional linguist team
- Knowledge of specialized vocabulary in both English and target language related to government missions
- Security clearances as described (CAT I/II/III) and related vetting requirements
