Job Summary
Witness inspections and testing activities per inspection test plans, quality plans, and industry standards while verifying equipment calibration and technician certifications. Act as the customer's representative at supplier and fabrication sites to promote safe work practices, utilizing required PPE and complying with safety guidelines. Generate clear, accurate reports documenting rejection and acceptance of inspections and testing activities, communicating job progression and results to coordinators and stakeholders. Meet or exceed HSSE objectives and comply with the Quality Management System. This role requires a Certified Welding Inspector with five years of shop inspection experience in the oil and gas industry, working two to three days per week for six months to one year.
Required Qualifications
- Current CWI
- 5+ years shop inspection experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Thorough understanding of third-party inspection processes (NDE, FAT, Assembly, etc.)
- Understanding of and experience with industry quality standards and codes (API, ASNT, ASME, NACE, DS-1, etc.)
- Adequate verbal and written communication skills to interface with customers and co-workers
- Basic PC skills and some proficiency with spreadsheets
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and complete work on a schedule, including working long hours and weekends if necessary
- Decision-making ability, including making decisions regarding day-to-day operations and changing methods to obtain best results
- Schedule: 2-3 days per week (8-10 hours per day) / 6 months - 1 year
Desired Qualifications
- Current American Welding Society (AWS) – Certified Welding Inspector certification
- 5 years of experience in a Third Party Inspection role.
- 5+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry
