Job Summary

Talent Coordinator supports HISD’s talent management, certification and hiring functions across feeder pattern schools and central office. Serves as a strategic partner to principals, division leaders, and HR colleagues, advising on complex talent management issues, providing direction, coaching, training, and data-driven insights. Collaborates with HRIS, budgeting, and recruitment teams to deliver comprehensive human capital solutions, participates in job fairs and recruitment events, and travels to schools and central office locations to deliver in-person support. Demonstrates subject-matter expertise in retention strategies and position management, helping leaders implement innovative HR practices aligned with HISD’s high-performance culture and Year 2035 objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in human resources, business administration, organizational leadership, education, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 years minimum experience in one or more HR functional areas if degree is related; 4 years minimum if degree not related
  • Experience with HRIS systems (SAP preferred) and applicant tracking systems; proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools
  • Ability to travel within the district to schools and departments
  • Strong communication, data analysis, and advisory skills; ability to collaborate with principals, division leaders, and central office managers
  • HR policy interpretation, training, and mentoring capabilities
