Job Summary
Architect, develop, and maintain high-performance eCommerce solutions by creating key system components, optimizing delivery times, and implementing new platform features. Perform deep code analysis, develop patches, and research capabilities to drive the eCommerce roadmap while engaging with Product Management on system design. Provide first-level Shopify technical support, troubleshoot critical issues, conduct incident postmortems, and participate in code reviews and unit testing. Work with the broader team to ensure security and performance best practices, support Project Management with effort estimates, and proactively remove technical roadblocks. This role prioritizes understanding the "why" behind the platform within a remote-first environment, focusing on engineering excellence for innovative brands.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional Shopify development experience
- Deep knowledge of Shopify Plus and its unique features
- Solid understanding of the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and modern development methodologies
- Proven experience with page performance optimization, front-end caching, CDNs, and secure development practices
- Strong ability to diagnose and resolve site issues using commercial and open-source tools
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Customer-first mindset, patience, and empathy
- Logical approach to problem-solving, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous learning and adaptability
- Familiarity with Jira and collaborative development environments
- Upper-intermediate English level
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in JavaScript or modern frameworks such as React or Vue
- Previous experience in customer service or dedicated technical support roles
- Exposure to Salesforce Commerce Cloud or other enterprise eCommerce platforms
