Job Summary
Talent Advisor for AutoNation serves as a strategic, market-facing HR partner embedded with 3–4 market clusters. Build trusted advisor relationships with Market Presidents and leadership teams; translate enterprise programs and tools into market-level actions; lead talent reviews and succession planning with meaningful, actionable outcomes; coach leaders through performance management and development; translate engagement data into action plans to improve retention; drive leadership capability building through targeted in-store modules and collaboration with Centers of Excellence. This is a fully onsite role anchored at AutoNation Headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, FL, with travel to stores within the market cluster as needed. The role requires 5+ years of HR/talent management experience, strong coaching and communication skills, data-driven decision making, autonomy, and willingness to travel; SHRM credentials and familiarity with Workday or similar HRIS/survey platforms are a plus. The posting emphasizes establishing trusted relationships with senior leaders, facilitating talent reviews, succession planning, driving the talent agenda, and delivering market-level outcomes through partnership with HRBPs and CoE.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive HR, talent management, or organizational development experience
- Demonstrated ability to build credibility and trust with senior business leaders
- Experience facilitating talent reviews, succession planning, or leadership calibration conversations
- Strong coaching skills with the ability to develop people leaders across levels
- Analytical mindset—comfortable using engagement and talent data to surface insights and drive decisions
- Exceptional communication skills; able to adapt from frontline associate conversations to Market President briefings
- High degree of autonomy—this role requires someone who can operate independently in the market and self-manage against enterprise priorities
- Willingness and ability to travel to store locations within assigned market cluster on an as-needed basis
- Preferred qualifications: Experience in multi-unit or retail-adjacent organizations; Workday/Perceptyx familiarity; SHRM-CP/SCP or equivalent; 9-box calibration experience
