Job Summary
Screen candidates for posted roles and manage university student eligibility processes, ensuring all required checks are completed. Serve as an HR representative on interview teams to maintain consistency and compliance while supporting hiring committees. Maintain the Applicant Tracking System to provide personalized service to external users and execute job offer paperwork and onboarding documentation in accordance with legal regulations. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop standard operating procedures for the screening, selection, and onboarding process, ensuring an inclusive candidate experience. Assist with general HR inquiries and discrepancies from employees and administrators as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 6 units of Management & Human Resource (MHR) or equivalent
- 6 months of customer service
- Excellent customer service skills
- Detail-oriented skills with the ability to perform consistent, accurate work
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- General computing skills to use (or learn to use) Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and other workstation software
- Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions
- Ability to adhere to work rules, follow directions, use time effectively and work productively without close supervision
- Ability to prioritize tasks, take initiative, and remain flexible in a changing environment
- Ability to effectively communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work with a diverse student population and campus community
- Able to work Tuesday and Thursday afternoons
- Must be currently enrolled in a minimum of 6.0 units (undergraduate) and 4.0 units (graduate)
- Must be currently enrolled in a minimum of 12.0 units (undergraduate) and 6.0 units (graduate) [for international students]
- Must have a minimum overall and Cal Poly Pomona GPA of 2.0
- Must be in good academic standing with the University
- Must be eligible to work and have the legal right to work in the United States
- Must be a Cal Poly Pomona student
- Must be designated as a mandated reporter and sign an Acknowledgment of Mandated Reporter Status and Legal Duty to Report Child Abuse and Neglect
- Must complete a background check (including a criminal records check) satisfactorily
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including a booster dose
