Job Summary
Talent Acquisition and Retention Manager for Newton Public Schools responsible for leading recruitment, onboarding, retention, and workforce support initiatives for instructional staff, long-term substitutes, student teachers, and interns. Oversee onboarding/offboarding processes, licensure verification, and workforce pipeline coordination; develop and execute recruitment and retention strategies; collaborate with school administrators and hiring managers; manage recruitment lifecycle including postings, applicant tracking, interviews, and selections; represent the district at job fairs and community events; track recruitment metrics and inform decisions; coordinate onboarding documentation, orientation, and compliance; support partnerships with educator preparation programs; analyze retention to identify turnover trends; implement mentorship, recognition, and career-path programs; ensure compliance with district policies and state/federal regulations; maintain confidentiality and accurate personnel documentation; require a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years HR experience with strong analytical and data management skills; office-based with periodic travel to schools and events.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources, HR operations, HRIS administration, payroll support, or data analytics
- Experience with HRIS/payroll systems such as Munis, TalentEd, SchoolSpring, or similar platforms preferred
- Strong analytical and data management skills
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and reporting/database tools
- Knowledge of HR compliance requirements, records management, and confidentiality practices
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across departments
- Experience: At least 3–5 years in recruitment, talent management, or human resources, preferably in education
- Skills: Recruitment and retention strategies, interpersonal and communication skills, data analysis, familiarity with HRIS and ATS, knowledge of employment laws
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple recruitment and onboarding processes simultaneously
