Job Summary
Review engineering drawings, specifications, and project documents to interpret requirements accurately. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, and roadway items using company software such as HCSS, Agtek, and Bluebeam. Input and update data into estimating systems while coordinating with estimators to verify quantities, material requirements, and subcontractor inputs. Assist in organizing bid documents, maintaining project files, and supporting the gathering of supplier and subcontractor quotes. Help maintain standardized takeoff templates and historical quantity databases. This role supports senior estimators and project teams in proposal preparations for heavy civil and roadway projects within a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in construction, civil engineering, or related field
- Familiarity with reading civil construction plans and performing basic measurements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Motivated to learn and grow in the construction estimating field
- Associate degree or coursework in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with takeoff or design software (Agtek, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, HCSS, or similar) is a plus
