Job Summary
Tajik Linguist sought to support Language Support Services (LSS) across YSG/TU contracts, with duties spanning interpretation (in-person and virtual), translation of written/audio/video materials, document review/editing, and foreign-language instruction. Open evergreen requisition for current and future LSS needs, not tied to a single client or location. Roles may be for government contracts requiring CAT I–III classifications, ILR proficiency in English, security vetting, and potential interim security access. Travel may be required; postings include Remote Operations Support in Huntsville, AL and Remote TU Support at JBLM, WA.
Required Qualifications
- Must be qualified/certified at one of CAT I, CAT II, or CAT III with ILR English proficiency requirements (ILR level 2+ for CAT I/II; ILR level 3 for CAT III)
- CAT I: local/non-local hires, security vetting by government personnel; CAT II: US citizens with security vetting and possible interim SECRET/SPI access; CAT III: US citizens with TOP SECRET/SCI access requirements
- Experience providing foreign language instruction to adult students
- Ability to provide idiomatic translations English↔foreign language with correct syntax and idiomatic expression
- Consecutive and accurate translation and interpretation of ongoing conversations/activities
- Familiarity with local culture and customs
- Willingness and ability to live and work in harsh environments and temporary facilities as mission dictates
- Ability to function under high pressure and stress for extended periods
- Ability to work as an integral member of a highly trained professional team
- Knowledge of specialized vocabulary in English and target languages related to Government missions
- Fluency in English and foreign language including regionalisms and slang
- Ability to interpret without changes, omissions, or additions while preserving tone and register
- Security clearance prerequisites per CAT I/II/III levels as applicable
- Travel may be required
