Job Summary
Install, service, and repair commercial vehicle tail lifts including column, tuckaway, and cantilever models. Perform LOLER inspections, complete statutory certification documentation, and maintain accurate service records. Diagnose and fix vehicle electrical systems, hydraulic components, and fault tracing issues. Collaborate with the coachbuilding team to integrate lifts during new builds and conduct pre-delivery checks for safety and compliance. Adhere to all health and safety procedures and provide technical support to colleagues and customers.
Required Qualifications
- LOLER certification (essential) with proven experience carrying out statutory inspections
- Strong knowledge of vehicle wiring, electrical fault-finding, and 12V/24V systems
- Solid understanding of hydraulic systems and components
- Previous experience fitting or maintaining tail lifts, mobility lifts, or similar lifting equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience within a coachbuilding, commercial vehicle bodywork, or automotive engineering environment
- Familiarity with major tail lift brands (e.g., Dhollandia, Ratcliff, DEL, Anteo)
