Job Summary
Install, service, and repair commercial vehicle tail lifts including column, tuckaway, and cantilever models. Conduct LOLER inspections, complete statutory certification, and maintain accurate service records. Diagnose and repair electrical systems, hydraulic components, and fault tracing. Collaborate with the coachbuilding team to integrate lifts into new builds and perform pre-delivery checks. Adhere to health and safety procedures while providing technical support to colleagues and customers. Requires LOLER certification, full UK driving licence, and experience with 12V/24V systems. Monday to Friday, 44 hours per week at £15.60 per hour in Trafford Park, Manchester.
Required Qualifications
- LOLER certification (essential) with proven experience carrying out statutory inspections
- Strong knowledge of vehicle wiring, electrical fault-finding, and 12V/24V systems
- Solid understanding of hydraulic systems and components
- Previous experience fitting or maintaining tail lifts, mobility lifts, or similar lifting equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Right to work in the United Kingdom
Desired Qualifications
- Experience within a coachbuilding, commercial vehicle bodywork, or automotive engineering environment
- Familiarity with major tail lift brands (e.g., Dhollandia, Ratcliff, DEL, Anteo)
