Job Summary
Tactical Athlete Coach – Running responsible for instructing and coaching Naval Special Warfare Orientation candidates, maintaining high standards of conduct with junior sailors, and delivering physical readiness training. Duties include administering physical testing per OPNAVINST 6110.1 guidelines, meeting PST standards within 30 days of check-in, completing NSW High-Risk Instructor Training, qualifying as a High-Risk Safety and Training Instructor, fulfilling BTC NSWO CUIT/ELI requirements, following NSW policies, handling Personal Identification and Personal Health Information securely, tracking student performance in the NSW ITRMS database, coordinating with NSWO leadership to identify performance trends, and performing administrative functions of the NSWO phase. Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in health/Exercise Science or related field, four years of coaching/fitness leadership experience, and health/fitness certifications. Additional requirements include a valid US driver’s license, ability to obtain SECRET clearance, CPR/AED/First Aid, and successful pre-employment screening. Schedule involves daytime hours with curriculum-driven variability; work environment spans indoor/outdoor settings and may require working in hot/cold conditions with exposure to the elements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health and Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related physical training field
- Four years of recent equivalent coaching/physical fitness leadership experience
- Valid running or endurance sports certification from UESCA or RRCA
- Successfully complete High-Risk Training Course (HRTC) within 30 days of hire
- Ability to obtain SECRET Clearance
- Current US drivers license
- CPR, AED, First Aid certification
- Ability to maneuver and communicate in varied environments
- Ability to operate government vehicles; ATV qualification desired
- Background check and pre-employment drug screening
