Job Summary
Operate and maintain SURTASS mission equipment aboard a government SURTASS asset at sea. Rotate 6 months on/6 months off. Perform operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting on SURTASS equipment per the Periodic Maintenance Schedule, including SHF SATCOM, processing, passive and active arrays, and other systems. Deploy/retrieve tow array evolutions, assist the SURTASS Technical Advisor and program managers with data/records/logs, maintain accurate logistics inventories, and participate in COMSEC/logistics duties. Requires Associate Degree or Navy Electronics C school, DoD 8140 IAT Level II, CCNA or equivalent, strong communication, ability to obtain/maintain a US passport and required security clearances, and ability to work in shipboard environments with military/government personnel. Desired: hands-on SURTASS/system experience and related communications/equipment experience. Compensation: $57,000. Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Technology, or equivalent; US Navy Electronics “C” school or equivalent civilian Electronics Technical school
- DoD 8140 IAT Level II
- CCNA certification or equivalent
- valid U.S. passport
- Secret Clearance required
- ability to obtain Top Clearance
- Mariner's Physical
- ability to work aboard ship with others in close quarters
- experience with SURTASS, SHF SATCOM, and sonar/navigational systems (desirable)
