Systems Testing - QA Specialist

Job Summary
Lead and contribute to the development of test strategies, plans, and cases while managing defects across system, functional, and user acceptance testing phases. Execute manual and automated tests throughout unit, integration, and business cycles, ensuring accessibility compliance and stress/load testing. Identify, document, and track quality issues, escalating risks per defined processes while collaborating with developers and stakeholders on defect resolution. Prepare real-world test data sets using database queries and maintain comprehensive test artifacts including scripts, reports, and validation documentation. Support UAT sessions with business users and facilitate cross-functional test reviews. This 10-month onsite assignment in Toronto requires 8+ years of QA experience and proficiency with DevOps, SharePoint, and cloud applications.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of hands-on Quality Assurance experience, including leading QA teams
- Strong experience with defect tracking and change management using collaborative tools
- Hands-on experience with technologies such as: Web applications and services
- Hands-on experience with technologies such as: SharePoint
- Hands-on experience with technologies such as: HTML, JavaScript, VBScript
- Hands-on experience with technologies such as: COTS, SaaS, and cloud-based applications
- Experience working closely with clients, technical teams, and vendors to resolve defects and manage change requests
- Knowledge and experience using version control systems, preferably Microsoft DevOps
- Strong understanding of all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment

- Experience planning, organizing, and implementing testing efforts for complex systems
- Knowledge of structured methodologies for application development and maintenance
