Job Summary
Systems Test Engineer to lead integration, bring-up, and testing of hardware and software subsystems across the space vehicle production lifecycle. Responsibilities include planning and executing system-level validation campaigns across electrical, mechanical, structural, propulsion, and avionics domains; developing comprehensive test procedures; coordinating across engineering functions; leading root-cause investigations; defining requirements and interfaces; ensuring thorough documentation and configuration control; participating in reviews and readiness checks; and supporting verification across multiple test platforms. Requires hands-on lab experience with test equipment, scripting in Python/MATLAB, strong troubleshooting, and knowledge of space avionics standards. Hybrid role with on-site work near Long Beach, CA; ITAR/compliance and citizenship-adjacency constraints apply.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
- Experience in system integration and/or test engineering for aerospace applications (spaceflight, satellites, spacecraft, or similar)
- Practical experience with integration and verification of hardware and software subsystems (Power, CAN, UART, RS-422, Ethernet; GNC GPS/IMUs; RF; Propulsion)
- Hands-on experience with system-level test equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, DAQs, signal generators, flow meters, leak detection)
- Proficiency in test plans, requirements tracing, test scripts (Python, MATLAB, or similar), and test automation tools
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and embedded systems
- Knowledge of space-relevant avionics qualification/acceptance standards (NASA-STD-8739.4, ECSS, MIL-STD-1540, MIL-STD-883, NASA GEVS)
- Willingness to work in hybrid environment with on-site requirements near Long Beach, CA
- US citizenship or lawful permanent resident or eligible for ITAR authorizations as required by the role
