Systems Test Engineer
On-site · San Diego, California, United States
Job Summary
The Systems Test Engineer IV will lead integration, validation, and operational evaluation activities across complex tactical communication systems. Responsibilities include defining validation strategies aligned to mission intent, coordinating cross-discipline troubleshooting, establishing readiness criteria, and delivering evidence-based assessments that inform delivery decisions. The role collaborates with software, networking, RF, cyber, hardware, and systems engineering to reduce uncertainty through evidence generation and to ensure system readiness for mission success. Successful candidates will drive learning-oriented integration events, de-risk architecture through iterative validation, and communicate residual risk and confidence levels to leadership. The position emphasizes constructing measurable system outcomes, validating architectural hypotheses, and maturing system readiness through architecture-evolving experimentation and operational feedback. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 8–12 years of experience across validation/integration, active U.S. Secret Clearance, and proficiency across test, simulation, model-based systems engineering, and cross-disciplinary coordination. What success looks like includes established validation strategies, reduced late-stage integration surprises, and improved confidence in readiness decisions based on objective evidence.
