Systems Technician III

Job Summary
Handle Tier 3 escalations across infrastructure, networking, and cloud environments, designing and implementing secure server, network, and security solutions. Lead remediation of complex issues with a root-cause focus while ensuring alignment with security standards and compliance requirements such as CMMC and NIST. Serve as the escalation point for technical problems and the technical lead for the support team, mentoring junior technicians and overseeing ticket quality and documentation. Communicate directly with clients to provide high-quality onsite and remote support that prioritizes stability, security, and long-term performance. Maintain accurate system documentation and track performance against KPIs including CSAT and resolution metrics. Full-time Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM in the Northern VA/DC Metro area, with occasional travel and some work-from-home flexibility.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizen
- Reside in the Northern VA / DC Metro area
- Associates degree OR equivalent experience
- 6+ years of industry experience
- Windows Server (2016–2025), Active Directory
- Microsoft 365 and Azure (Hybrid and Cloud environments)
- Exchange (on-prem and migration scenarios)
- Networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls)
- Endpoint security (NGAV, hardening, best practices)
- Cybersecurity frameworks and best practices
- Diagnose complex issues across systems (not just follow runbooks)
- Work independently and make sound technical decisions
- Balance escalations, projects, and team responsibilities
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users

Desired Qualifications
- Fortinet
- MSP experience in a senior or lead role
- Experience with CMMC, NIST 800-171, DFARS
- Certifications: A+, Network+, Security+, or higher
- Advanced certifications (CISM, CISA, ITIL, PMP)
