Job Summary
Install DDC controls, pull wires, and mount devices per engineering design while coordinating electrical contractors on jobsites. Troubleshoot sensors, field panels, and control consoles to diagnose defects and determine corrective actions. Perform wiring checkouts, assist in automation system startups, and complete final calibration following preliminary setup. Submit written reports covering customer details, trouble nature, equipment, time, materials, and travel expenses. Respond to emergency service calls and build customer relationships while maintaining a professional image.
Required Qualifications
- High School education or equivalent
- Minimum one year of experience in engineering systems installation or related field
- Strong knowledge of automation systems, HVAC and electrical concepts and operations
- Proficient in job start-up, checkout, programming, graphics and troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Mathematical abilities to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and create and interpret graphs
- Strong problem solving ability
- Ability to carry out instructions provided in written, oral or diagram form
- Ability to evaluate urgency of situation and prioritize tasks
- Organized with an attention to detail
- Valid driver license
- Technical school certificates
- Annual DOT physical
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, balance, twist, and reach with hands and arms on a regular basis
- Ability to squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to carry, lift, move or push up to 100 pounds on a regular basis, and over 100 pounds occasionally
- Ability to talk and listen to others
- Ability to use hands or fingers to handle or feel on a regular basis
- Ability to see up close and distant, distinguish colors, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
- Must be available for overtime, evening or weekend work
- Requires travel to and from job sites, some may be out of town
- Requires occasional overnight stays
