Systems R&D Engineer

Job Summary
Develop systems architectures and execute experiments on first-of-its-kind technology advancements in laboratory and field environments, including on-boat testing. Create detailed test plans, procedures, and validation matrices to establish clear requirements and acceptance criteria for system upgrades. Analyze test data to identify performance trends and proactively identify technical issues using root cause analysis to implement corrective actions. Troubleshoot and fix products under test while collaborating with a multidisciplinary R&D team to integrate new technologies into working prototypes. Present test results and conclusions to colleagues and management to drive product capability improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with mechanical, electrical, or systems discipline
- 4+ years of experience with electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic systems
- Master's degree in engineering
- 1+ year of applicable experience (postgraduate)
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to wire electrical systems
- Hands-on with the product
- Data analysis skills
- Experience utilizing programs such as Python, MATLAB, and/or DIAdem
- Experience running experiments and testing performance of mechanical systems in a lab or field environment
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex systems
- Applying structured problem-solving methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 5-Whys, Fault Tree Analysis, or similar techniques
- Capable of thinking systematically
- Documenting processes, procedures, and test results
- Ability to establish and manage requirements
- Thrive in a collaborative team environment

- Onsite in Leesport, PA five days a week
