Systems Protection Engineer – Technical Services

Job Summary

Conduct technical support, customer training, and troubleshooting for electric power system protection and automation products. Assist customers with system installation, commissioning, and operation via on-site visits, demonstrations, and telephone contact. Collaborate with the Technical Services Group to resolve concerns by providing application notes, conference papers, and Webex demonstrations. Meet with customers to gather feature set requirements for marketing and contribute to strategic plans and proposal presentations. Update job knowledge through industry technical meetings, educational opportunities, and professional publications while developing expert-level product expertise. Assume project management roles and fulfill supervisory duties as assigned. Participate in training efforts and maintain an expert level of knowledge about Client products and solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • 4 - 8 years' experience working with relays and recorders
  • 5 - 10 years' Protection Relay Experience
  • Working knowledge of electric power systems and practices and philosophies
  • Working knowledge of protective relay applications at utility or engineering firm and industry practices
  • Experience with EMTP, load flow, and short circuit studies
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen & criminal background check
  • Travel Requirement: Up to 20% within the US/Canada Internationally
