Job Summary
Provide technical support to government agencies by maintaining and repairing microwave, telephone, two-way radio, digital trunked radio, data, and video communications equipment and systems. Responsibilities include assisting in design and installation of equipment, troubleshooting and repairing subscriber radio equipment, and ensuring proper operation of test equipment. Knowledge of TDM circuits, hardline coaxial cables, and -48 VDC power systems is essential. The role requires 24/7 emergency repair readiness and the ability to work in severe weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Technical support in telecommunications equipment and systems
- Ability to operate test equipment like service monitors and spectrum analyzers
- Understanding of TDM circuits and related equipment signaling
- Ability to identify performance issues in subscriber radio equipment
- Knowledge of connectorizing hardline coaxial cable
- Knowledge of -48 VDC power systems and associated components
- Emergency repair service on a 24/7 on-call basis
- Ability to climb towers over 350 feet and install equipment
