Job Summary

Author, edit, and maintain technical manuals, operator guides, SOPs, and deployment plans for on-premises and cloud-hosted systems. Develop and maintain system design documents, as-built documentation, interface control documents, and network architecture diagrams in support of engineering teams. Translate complex system designs into clear, standardized documentation suitable for government review and acceptance. Establish documentation standards, enforce version control, and participate in design reviews and configuration control boards to keep artifacts current. Verify documented procedures hands-on in lab and production environments to ensure technical accuracy. Manage documentation within approved repositories, including classified networks. Requires Bachelor's degree, 5+ years systems engineering experience, active TS/SCI clearance, and exceptional technical writing skills. Salary range $103,500–$181,100.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of systems engineering or related IT experience
  • demonstrated experience producing technical documentation for complex IT systems
  • Exceptional technical writing skills
  • Working knowledge of Linux (RHEL) environments
  • Working knowledge of virtualization
  • Working knowledge of cloud computing
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking
  • Experience creating architecture and network diagrams using Microsoft Visio or similar tools
  • Active TS security clearance
  • SCI eligibility
  • ability to obtain a polygraph

Desired Qualifications

  • CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent
  • ability to obtain CompTIA Security+ CE within six months of hire
  • Experience documenting systems in accordance with DoD or IC documentation standards
  • Experience documenting systems in accordance with data item descriptions (DIDs)
  • Familiarity with Government cloud environments
  • Experience working in SCIF or other classified/air gapped environments
  • Familiarity with configuration management practices and tools (Git, SharePoint versioning, Confluence)
  • Experience with structured authoring or documentation toolchains (MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, Markdown/AsciiDoc)
