Job Summary
Systems Engineer to analyze user requirements, create system requirements specifications, and contribute to system engineering documentation (System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, Interface Control Documents). Role supports DoDAF/SOA-aligned architectures, coordinates with CCBs and cross-discipline teams, develops and allocates requirements to hardware/software/personnel, and helps design and validate system concepts and interfaces throughout the lifecycle. Requires evaluating stakeholder needs, deriving higher- and lower-level requirements, and contributing to integrated product teams and verification plans. Security clearance is required.
Required Qualifications
- BS in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management or related discipline from an accredited college or university
- Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
- Security Clearance: A current government clearance, background investigation, and polygraph are required
- Seven (7) years of experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope and complexity (Level 1) or Fourteen (14) years (Level 2) or Twenty (20) years (Level 3) depending on level
- Experience with DoDAF, SOA and ensuring delivery of production systems compatible with defined architectures
- Ability to develop system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation to hardware, software, and personnel components
- Experience coordinating action items from CCB meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews
- Participation in an integrated Product Team for new capabilities; development of SE documentation and interface control documents
- Experience deriving lower-level requirements from higher-level ones and creating verifiable system components
- Reviewing program work breakdown structures and master plans; establishing definitions for system/components
- Knowledge of Information Assurance services and security mechanisms
- BS in related field; 5 years SE experience may substitute for bachelor’s degree
