On-site · Lexington, Massachusetts, United States
Job Summary
The Space Imaging team is seeking a Systems Engineer to define active EO/IR system architectures, perform radiometric performance modeling, and lead laboratory, ground, and flight testing to validate system performance. The role involves modeling atmospheric and environmental effects for land, sea, and air targets, informing system-level architectural trades, and potentially leading small engineering teams from concept ideation through system definition and development. Proficiency in analytical toolchains/languages (e.g., MATLAB, Python) is required; experience with EO/IR modeling software packages (MODTRAN, SPIRITS, AFSIM) is a plus, and prior work with space sensors and systems is highly desirable.
Required Qualifications
- Model development and validation in domains relevant to remote sensing
- Ability to decompose complex systems into functional parts with interfaces and requirements
- Experience in system design and development from concept through delivery
- Strong laboratory skills (rapid prototyping, design of experiments) and familiarity with opto-electrical test and measurement equipment
- Willingness to travel to test sites
- Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance
