Job Summary
Systems Engineer to design and implement disaster recovery for the provider-side server network, perform server/software upgrades, monitor and maintain health, uptime, and security across server environments, and support infrastructure improvements. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, handling service orders, conducting lab testing for new technologies, deploying virtual and physical servers, and performing hardware repairs/upgrades. Requires strong Windows Server and Linux skills, networking fundamentals, familiarity with monitoring tools (Elastic Stack, Grafana, SolarWinds), backup experience (Rubrik), Debian/RedHat concepts, and excellent communication, problem-solving, and project-management abilities. On-site in Ellettsville, IN with standard hours and occasional evenings/weekends; on-call rotation one week per month. Equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Technical Degree or experience with server hardware, virtualization, and hosted environments.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows Server and Linux environments
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (DHCP, DNS, firewalls, email/web hosting, network security, database configuration and management, visualization, databases and DEVOPS).
- Familiarity with system monitoring tools (Elastic Stack, or LOG management, Grafana, SolarWinds, SNMP).
- Experience with backup solutions (e.g., Rubrik).
- Knowledge of Debian and RedHat-based systems concepts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving and troubleshooting.
- Effective project management and time management skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a dynamic environment.
