Job Summary
Systems Engineer SME with TS/SCI poly requirement. Responsibilities include testing AWS-based applications (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, CloudFront), applying QA fundamentals (test planning, test case design, defect lifecycle, regression testing, risk-based testing), implementing test automation across frameworks (Python + pytest, Java + JUnit/TestNG, JavaScript/TypeScript + Playwright/Cypress/Selenium), and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline/CodeBuild). Strength in Git version control and Agile/Scrum processes, plus strong defect isolation and collaboration with developers/DevOps to reproduce issues and validate fixes. Desired skills include testing distributed systems/microservices, IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK), containerization (Docker, ECS, EKS/Kubernetes), API testing (REST/JSON), logging/monitoring (CloudWatch, Splunk/ELK), performance testing (k6, JMeter, Gatling, Locust), test data management in cloud environments, and AWS certifications; prior experience in high-security, regulated environments; excellent written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
- Demonstrated experience testing applications deployed on AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, or CloudFront)
- Strong knowledge of QA fundamentals: test planning, test case design, defect lifecycle, regression testing, risk-based testing
- Test automation experience using frameworks/languages (e.g., Python + pytest, Java + JUnit/TestNG, JavaScript/TypeScript + Playwright/Cypress/Selenium)
- Experience writing and maintaining automated tests integrated into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline/CodeBuild)
- Version control (Git) and SDLC practices (Agile/Scrum)
- Strong defect isolation and debugging skills; ability to collaborate with developers/DevOps to reproduce issues and validate fixes
- Desired skills include testing distributed systems/microservices, IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK), container platforms (Docker, ECS, EKS/Kubernetes), API testing (REST/JSON), logging/monitoring (CloudWatch, Splunk/ELK), performance testing (load/stress/soak, tools like k6, JMeter, Gatling, Locust), test data management in cloud environments (synthetic data, masking, seeding, ephemeral environments), AWS certifications (Cloud Practitioner, Developer Associate, SysOps Associate, or DevOps Engineer), experience in complex, high-security, regulated environments
