Job Summary
Conduct systems safety engineering support for Standard Missile 2 and 3 programs by developing safety products, leading engineering reviews, and formulating risk assessment studies. Analyze safety test documentation, evaluate hardware and software changes, and prepare reports and briefs for formal boards including the WSESRB. Mentor teams of safety engineers and maintain currency on Navy and Joint combat systems while participating in hazard analysis and design architecture assessments. Perform this work full-time with minimal telework, including up to 5-10% CONUS travel, within the BCI Operations Engineering Safety group.
Required Qualifications
- DoD System Safety Programs experience
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, scientific, business or technical discipline
- military operational experience at the E6 level or higher
- 15+ years of general operational experience in systems engineering for DoD weapon systems programs
- 15 years' combination US Navy, civil service, or industry experience
- Five (5) years of qualified experience in DoD systems engineering processes in performing tasks focused on the development of system safety identified in MIL-STD 882

- Demonstrated experience in the development and coordination of presentations
- Two (2) years' experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- US citizenship

- CONUS travel up to 5-10%

- Safety experience in environmental safety
- Safety experience in topside and cargo safety
- Safety experience in other related safety areas
