Job Summary
Systems Engineer (Senior Principal or Staff Level) at Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in San Diego, CA. Lead requirements development, allocation, verification/validation planning, and interface definition. Author complex specifications and interface control documents; coordinate with program, functional and subsystem leads; maintain engineering artifacts under configuration management; ensure verification/validation of artifacts; manage Control Accounts as CAM; deliver all team deliverables on time and within cost; drive technical quality, performance, cost, and schedule; engage with IPTs and external customers; synthesize data and communicate findings and recommendations; support risk & opportunity management and change control; coordinate staffing and resources for program objectives; travel up to 10% as needed. Must have active clearance and experience with DOORS, requirements traceability, Python or scripting, and leadership of technical teams. Primary or secondary salary levels exist, with total compensation including potential bonuses and benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in STEM with at least 8 years of relevant experience OR Master’s in STEM with at least 6 years OR PhD with at least 4 years of relevant experience in Systems Engineering
- Active U.S. Government Secret clearance (or higher) with recent background investigation OR currently eligible for SAP clearance
- Experience with requirements management and verification/validation
- Experience with DOORS
- Experience with requirement decomposition and traceability from System to Unit/Supplier specifications
- Experience with Python or other scripting languages
- Experience leading a technical team and coordinating across IPTs
- Demonstrated ability to manage cost, schedule, and performance (EVMS/CAM)
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with internal/external stakeholders
- Knowledge of software development and HW/SW integration testing (preferred)
- Ability to obtain/maintain SAP clearance (preferred)
