Job Summary
The Systems Engineer Senior I will significantly contribute to a multi-disciplinary project team focused on developing innovative solutions for the Royal Canadian Navy in the Anti-Submarine Warfare domain. Responsibilities include applying engineering skills to devise solutions to complex problems, managing system requirements, conducting trade studies, leading system design, and overseeing integration and validation strategies. The role demands a strong background in Systems Engineering lifecycle with at least 6 years of experience, ideally in naval defense, along with excellent communication skills to interface with stakeholders. Candidates must also possess a degree in Systems Engineering or a closely related discipline, and be capable of maintaining security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Detailed knowledge of the Systems Engineering lifecycle and formal processes and methodologies - preferably in the defense sector
- 6+ years of experience in the Systems Engineering field - ideally within the naval defense sector or a highly complex engineering environment
- Experience communicating and interfacing with a wide range of stakeholders including senior management and external customers
- Develops and manages KPIs to measure and improve performance of work activities
- Required to maintain a security clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge and experience in design, planning and integration of complex electronic systems specializing in EMI/EMC activities for the defense application
- Familiar with Military Standards (MIL-STD) in area of EMI/EMC and Environmental qualification
- Experience with sonar systems and naval deployment
- Working knowledge and experience in one or more areas: safety systems, ILS, cyber security
- Use of standard office tools and proven experience with tools such as DOORS, UML tools, ERPs and other Configuration Management tools
