Job Summary
Mid-level Systems Engineer to support Operations and Maintenance (O&M), limited research and development (R&D), and procurement of data/information processing capabilities on the SCION IV contract. Work with an interdisciplinary engineering team, supporting the United States Space Force Combat Forces Command (CFC). Provide engineering expertise across hardware, software and mobile equipment; communicate highly technical information to all levels of USSF command teams and subordinate units. Collaborate with co-located and remote engineering teams and provide on-site support to exercise events. Responsibilities include providing O&M support for large and portable antenna systems and test equipment, performing system installations at geographically diverse locations, configuring systems to meet customer needs, performing performance tuning and upgrades, maintaining documentation in the Configuration Management Knowledge Base, and producing technical documents and drawings for new deliveries. Some duties may require evenings or weekends. Support worldwide supply chain logistics nodes using software tools and Systems Engineering best practices. Required experience includes RF systems knowledge, system engineering fundamentals, strong communication skills, and ability to lift 50+ lbs. Desired: SE BOK exposure, subsystem integration experience, SIGINT production systems familiarity, and DoD acquisition practices.
Required Qualifications
- Current TS/SCI clearance is required
- CI Polygraph may be required for Special Access Programs (SAP)
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited University
- minimum of 5 years of professional experience or 7+ years of relevant professional experience without a degree
- Understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) systems, design, propagation, and receiver performance
- Knowledge of system engineering fundamentals
- Strong active listening skills and attention to detail
- Must be self-motivated with good interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
- Experience in producing technical volumes, white papers, version description documents
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs to aid in the installation, testing & pack out of systems
- Experience with antenna system, sub-system and depot level maintenance and repair
- Experience with Radio Frequency measurement
- Exposure to SIGINT Production Systems
- Exposure to networking principles and/or experience working with classified networks
- Understanding of DOD acquisition practices
- DOD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification (SEC+ or eqv.)
- Systems Engineering or Project Management certification (ASEP, Project+)
