Job Summary

Systems Engineer/Principal Engineer role within Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems, located in Oklahoma City, OK (with additional locations in Melbourne, FL and San Diego, CA). Responsibilities include requirements development, allocation, verification/validation planning, interface definition, writing complex specifications and reports, cross-functional collaboration across IPTs and with external customers, artifact configuration management, verification/validation of artifacts, and program execution planning. The candidate will use JIRA or similar tools for issue tracking, support cross-functional development and testing of system functional threads, and contribute to program IFC plans and metrics. Requires DoD Secret clearance (or higher) with ability to obtain/maintain SAP clearance, and travel up to 10%. Salary ranges provided, plus benefits and potential for overtime/bonuses. The role emphasizes leadership, communication, and the ability to operate within a multi-disciplinary engineering team on modernization and sustainment efforts, with experience in aerospace systems engineering and MBSE/WF tools such as DOORS, Cameo, and MBSE practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret or higher clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline AND 2 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering OR Master’s degree in a STEM discipline OR PhD in a STEM discipline
  • Experience in aerospace Systems Engineering including requirements decomposition, test planning, requirements verification, integration, and requirements management
  • Experience with Python or other scripting language (preferred)
  • Experience with DOORS DXL and DOORS administration (preferred)
  • Experience with Cameo (preferred)
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) (preferred)
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment software development for Aircraft Sustainment efforts (preferred)
  • Experience with Agile execution (preferred)
  • Experience with managing suppliers with technical requirements and verification expectations (preferred)
  • Systems Engineer 2 / Principal Systems Engineer 3 qualifications as stated in the posting
