Job Summary
Systems Engineer to support a DISA program, providing engineering, integration, administration, and operational support for enterprise infrastructure and mission-critical systems in a secure environment. Requires experience across systems architecture, virtualization, automation, cybersecurity compliance, and enterprise operations; collaboration with government stakeholders, cybersecurity teams, and network engineers to ensure high availability, performance, and security. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise systems infrastructure; administering Linux server environments in classified and unclassified networks; supporting cloud platforms (AWS/Azure); developing documentation and SOPs; monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and root-cause analysis; patch management, RMF/STIG compliance, vulnerability remediation, and DoD security requirements; automating admin tasks with PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Ansible; supporting backup, DR, and high-availability; participating in upgrades and migrations; mentoring junior engineers and contributing to technical strategy and process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 4+ years of systems engineering or enterprise infrastructure experience
- Experience supporting DOW/DoD or federal government environments
- Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- AWS and or Azure cloud environments
- Enterprise storage and backup technologies
- Automation and scripting tools
- Systems monitoring and performance management
- Understanding of RMF, STIGs, ACAS, and DoD cybersecurity policies
- Active Security+ CE or equivalent DoD 8570/8140 certification
- Active Secret clearance required
