Job Summary
Systems Engineer (L2) role based in the NYC Metro area delivering advanced onsite technical support to clients. You will spend most of your time at client sites performing troubleshooting, system administration, and high-level support across Windows Server/AD, networking, virtualization, and collaboration platforms, with travel to NY/NJ as required. Responsibilities include designing, building, migrating, and maintaining business networks and systems (servers, AD, DNS, GPO), managing Exchange/Office 365 and Azure, VMware and Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop environments, NAS/SAN storage, and providing disaster recovery/backups. You’ll install, configure, and troubleshoot network equipment (routers, firewalls, switches, wireless APs, SSL-VPN), ensure security and email filtering, document procedures and configurations, manage software licenses, and guide junior engineers. The role emphasizes customer service, problem solving, teamwork, project execution to meet deadlines, and ongoing professional growth within an MSP context; travel to client sites is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Substantial experience with Windows Servers
- Strong understanding of fundamental networking concepts (switching/routing, DNS/DHCP, RADIUS authentication, WAP management, Email security protocols)
- Strong experience managing and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows OS technology including AD Forests, Domains, Trusts, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and Organizational Units
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- A driver’s license and vehicle of your own and the ability to travel to client locations if needed
- Experience working with/at MSP’s
- Experience with RMM tools
- Familiarity with the ConnectWise Suite of products
- Proficiency in administering, configuring, maintaining and upgrading various VMware technologies
- Proficiency in administering, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading Citrix XenApp & XenDesktop environments
- Administering and configuring NAS and SAN technologies from various vendors
- A solid and well thought out diagnostic mindset
- 3 + years technical experience relevant to the above
