Job Summary
Systems Engineer Level 3 for development and ongoing support of new and existing designs used in surface ship and submarine propulsion and power generation systems for the US Navy based out of Sunnyvale, CA. Responsibilities include performing integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analyses, and supportability and effectiveness analyses; translating customer requirements into hardware and software specifications; creating and updating system and sub-system level specifications in DOORS with VCRM and traceability; updating drawings and documents (ICDs, arrangement drawings); leading internal/external reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, IRR, TRR); supporting Model Based System Engineering products (behavior models, Use Case realizations, State Machines); collaborating in a team-oriented culture with a focus on flexibility and learning; onsite presence at the Sunnyvale, CA campus; US Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years relevant experience; or Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years relevant work experience
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- First-hand experience with requirements and interface management
- Familiarity with system drawings and documents such as Interface Control Documents, System/Subsystem Specifications, Verification Cross Reference Matrices (VCRM)
- Experience with system engineering tools such as IBM Rational DOORS
- Familiarity with MBE/MBSE concepts and tools
- US Citizenship required
