Job Summary
Serve as a Systems Engineering SME supporting hardware and software implementation, integration, testing, and troubleshooting. Travel to customer locations, test sites, and technology demonstrations to provide on-site technical support during emergent events. Evaluate existing systems, analyze architectures, and identify integration impacts or technical risks to develop corrective recommendations. Troubleshoot complex issues across hardware, operating systems, networks, and interfaces while assisting with system installation and configuration. Review documentation, architecture diagrams, and procedures to identify gaps and recommend updates. Support technical demonstrations, proof-of-concept activities, and the integration of emerging technologies into future system architectures.
Required Qualifications
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) for system-level hardware and software integration
- Ability to assess complex systems
- Understanding of how hardware and software components interact
- Ability to identify integration issues
- Ability to develop practical solutions in dynamic environments
- Comfort working directly with technical teams and Government customers
- Ability to travel to support events
- Ability to provide hands-on technical expertise when emergent requirements arise
- Experience supporting hardware and software implementation, integration, testing, and troubleshooting
- Ability to travel to customer locations, test sites, technology demonstrations, and other events
- Ability to provide on-site technical support
- Experience supporting emergent technology events, demonstrations, integration activities, and technical evaluations
- Ability to provide SME-level technical expertise throughout the planning, implementation, integration, testing, and troubleshooting lifecycle
- Ability to review existing systems
- Ability to evaluate hardware, software, interfaces, configurations, and dependencies
- Ability to analyze system architectures
- Ability to identify potential integration impacts, technical risks, and compatibility issues
- Ability to support the integration of hardware and software components into existing system environments
- Ability to troubleshoot complex system-level issues involving hardware, operating systems, applications, networks, interfaces, and supporting infrastructure
- Ability to identify root causes of technical and integration issues
- Ability to develop recommendations for corrective actions
- Experience with the installation, configuration, integration, and testing of hardware and software systems
- Ability to evaluate new and emerging technologies for potential integration into existing or future system architectures
- Experience supporting technical demonstrations, proof-of-concept activities, prototypes, and experimental systems
- Ability to participate in system reviews
- Ability to provide technical recommendations regarding system configuration, integration approaches, and implementation strategies
- Ability to review system documentation, architecture diagrams, interface documentation, configuration information, and technical procedures
- Ability to identify gaps or inconsistencies in system documentation
- Ability to recommend updates to system documentation
- Ability to develop and maintain technical documentation supporting system implementation, integration, configuration, and troubleshooting
