Systems Engineer

Job Summary
Administer servers, networks, and desktop environments while managing data center operations, virtualization platforms, and database systems. Perform system upgrades, infrastructure enhancements, and technology rollouts, including OS installation, patching, firmware updates, and performance optimization. Investigate complex technical issues to implement permanent solutions and reduce recurring incidents. Collaborate with network teams and business stakeholders to define system objectives and resolve technology challenges. Design and deploy new applications and software enhancements, conducting cost-benefit analyses and liaising with vendors for procurement. Deliver high-quality IT support across multiple locations, managing service requests and ensuring agreed service levels are met. Support data center draw operations on a rotational basis, monitoring checklists and preparing compliance reports.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (NQF Level 7 or equivalent) in Information Technology or a related field
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in IT Server Engineering and Systems Administration
- At least 2 years' experience in IT Infrastructure Management within Data Center environments
- At least 2 years' experience in Network Management
- Strong knowledge of server administration, networking, virtualization, IT infrastructure, IT security, and IT service management
- Proven experience in systems design, implementation, maintenance, and technical troubleshooting
- Strong analytical, communication, customer service, project management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced technical environment
- Location: Tanzania
Desired Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, MCSE, or equivalent
- Experience within the lottery or gaming industry
