Job Summary
Lead requirements engineering for a full system or feature area with no supervision required, owning stakeholder identification, analysis, and KPI tracking through program milestones. Translate product goals into comprehensive, hierarchically structured requirements, author detailed specifications, and enforce quality standards across the team. Generate, maintain, and baseline ICDs for subsystem and vehicle-level interactions while leading diagramming and modeling techniques to define system structure and interfaces. Co-lead safety analyses including HARAs, STPAs, and FMEAs, and conduct trade studies with subject matter experts to evaluate feature feasibility. Represent the team in business development and customer technical meetings, providing informal mentorship to junior engineers. This senior individual contributor role involves driving safety integration, scoping new work, and leading technical reviews within ASI's autonomous robotics solutions team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 4–7 years of direct, hands-on experience in requirements elicitation, generation, and management
- INCOSE SEP, CPRE Foundation Level (IREB), or other recognized systems engineering certifications
- Proven record of delivering requirements-driven work products through the full product development lifecycle
- Demonstrated experience in autonomous systems, robotics, or related domains
- Proficient in Agile or Scrum methodologies; comfortable managing requirements work across sprint and program increment boundaries
- Working knowledge of ASPICE SYS.2 (System Requirements Analysis), SYS.3 (System Architectural Design), and related support processes (SUP.8 Configuration Management, SUP.9 Problem Resolution) is required at this level
- Proficient in at least one requirements management tool (Jama Connect, IBM DOORS, or Polarion) at a practitioner level
- Experience leading or co-leading safety analyses (HARAs, STPAs, FMEAs)
- Working knowledge of applicable industry and safety standards, including ISO 15288, ISO 9001, ISO 25119, IEC 61508, and ISO 34503; ability to derive requirements from these standards and identify when additional standards apply
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to remain in a stationary position at a computer workstation constantly throughout the workday
- Ability to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
- Ability to effectively complete job responsibilities on computer monitors
- Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information in person, via phone, and through other electronic means
- Able to traverse an office environment
