Job Summary
Design, execute, and document experiments supporting next-generation sequencing feasibility, development, and validation. Perform nucleic acid extraction, sample preparation, library preparation, and sequencing experiments on the Single Molecule Sequencing platform. Optimize workflows and operating protocols while troubleshooting instrument, assay, and workflow failures using root cause analysis. Develop test cases based on product requirements and apply statistical analysis and Design of Experiments methods to interpret data and improve performance. Collaborate with assay, instrumentation, software, and bioinformatics teams to maintain accurate laboratory records and support continuous improvement of sequencing reliability and throughput.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 1–3+ years of relevant experience in science, engineering, chemistry, or a related field
- Hands-on experience with PCR, nucleic acid extraction, DNA sequencing, sample preparation, library preparation, and/or NGS
- Experience using Python, MATLAB, Git, or similar tools for data analysis or automation
- Knowledge of statistical analysis, including JMP, regression, and ANOVA
- Experience with Design of Experiments (DoE) and statistical process control
- Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, data analysis, and technical documentation skills
