Systems Engineer II (Backup)

Design, implement, and provide ongoing support of the Backup Infrastructure, serving as the advanced matter expert for all Backup environments. Create and maintain backup infrastructure for bare-metal and virtual machines using SAN, NAS, Tape, and local disk configurations on Linux and Windows. Monitor and correct backup issues, create recovery processes for failures, and configure alerts for proactive response times. Write custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower human intervention time on tasks such as monitoring backup storage with Infrastructure as a Service. Provide third-level support, liaise with vendors and IT personnel for problem resolution, and ensure technical documentation exists for all systems. Transition knowledge to Government staff through training and assistance on technology usage.
