Job Summary
Design, develop, and test software features for flight management systems integrated into military helicopters and planes within a cross-functional Systems and Software engineering team. Grow knowledge of Systems Engineering and Flight Management Systems while integrating soft skills like leadership and coordination to deliver quality products to internal and external customers. Travel domestically and internationally less than 10% as needed to support mission-critical development. This role is onsite in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, within Collins Aerospace's Military Avionics Flight Management department, focusing on the CAAS/Flight 2 product line.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Person status (lawful permanent resident, U.S. citizen, U.S. national, refugee, or asylee)
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- Minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience
- Advanced Degree in a related field (alternative to 2 years experience)
- 2+ years of experience with C, C++, DOORS, ADA, and/or Python
- 2+ years of experience in a Systems role
- Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance if needed after day 1
- Travel (domestic and international <10%) as needed
- Commitment to professional working hours that may extend beyond a typical 7:30am to 4:30pm workday or beyond a 40-hour work week
- Onsite work location (Cedar Rapids, Iowa)
Desired Qualifications
- Industry Experience of Software Lifecycle Development (Design, Requirements, Integration, Test)
- Pilot/Avionics Experience (i.e. Private Pilot, Aircraft Maintenance, DO-178 Certification)
