Systems Engineer I - SDF (3rd shift)

Job Summary
Provide operational IT infrastructure support as part of a cross-functional IT Infrastructure team at Novo Nordisk's Durham SDF site. Responsibilities include configuration, installation and working condition of automation equipment control systems and computer information systems throughout the facility (including site ERP systems, SAP), hands-on hardware and software tasks in server room and patch room build-outs, and tier 1-2 IT network/server support with after-hours coverage. Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and cGMPs, participate in life-cycle system management with corporate IT, liaison between site end users and HQ support for SAP, and support production operations and backup/restore processes. Role requires travel up to 10% and eventual shift move to 3rd shift (10pm–6:30am, Monday through Friday) following initial training on first shift.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field from an accredited university required
- May consider an Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field from an accredited college and five (5) years of experience implementing & administering networks in a medium to large enterprise environment
- May consider a High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of seven (7) years of experience implementing & administering networks in a medium to large enterprise environment
- Minimum three (3) years of experience implementing & administering networks in a medium to large enterprise environment required
- Certification in a networking infrastructure discipline (e.g. CCENT, Network +) preferred
- Minimum three (3) years of experience supporting Windows based virtual servers preferred
- Experience supporting IT network infrastructure, preferably Cisco equipment required
- Specific knowledge of networking principles & concepts required
- Experience supporting Windows based virtual servers preferred
- Experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Food, Cosmetic, Beverage or relevant work preferred
- Experience with SAP preferred
- Experience with VMWare preferred
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in support of production operations a plus
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office a plus
